Care for Employee’s Health

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Office of CT primarily handles employee health examinations, employee health management, prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses (including human factors engineering hazards, abnormal workloads, and occupational misconduct), maternal health protection, employee injury and illness treatment, first aid and emergency response, health counseling, conducting health education, and other labor health service-related matters.

In addition to conducting risk assessment and management through the analysis and evaluation of labor physical check-ups results, CT also employs occupational physicians to perform on-site work suitability assessments. These assessments include functional evaluations for returning to work after injury or illness, as well as recommendations for job redesign or adjustments. The company has also installed safety equipment such as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), small oxygen cylinders, first aid kits, and medical kits within the plant area. Training courses on occupational health and safety for emergency responders have been established to strengthen CT’s internal emergency response network.

n   Emergency Injury and Disease Service

The number of first aid personnel at CT has already met the legal requirements this year. Due to a lower demand for retraining, we have arranged for some personnel to attend training courses organized by various associations. The training duration is 3 hours, and there are a total of 4 participants. In the December meeting for migrant workers, we provided instruction on how to use AED and uploaded translated instructional videos to the contact group. This allows migrant workers from different countries to watch and learn from them. Furthermore, considering the well-being of our employees, we have installed an AED in the administrative building to ensure that we can maximize the “golden hour” in case of emergencies. Through educational training programs, we aim to promote first aid practices and strengthen our colleagues’ abilities to handle emergency situations.

To enhance the emergency response capabilities of employees in the event of accidents and to address recommendations from client audits, in December of 2022, the internal education and training for on-site first aid were completed. The training primarily targeted non-first aid personnel and supervisors involved in on-site operations. The course covered topics such as the location of emergency medical facilities, contents and usage of first aid kits, relevant laws, CPR, AED operation, emergency handling of common injuries, emergency reporting procedures, and precautions.

n   Medical Service

CT arranges monthly visits by hospitals to provide on-site health consultations. Doctors visit the company premises to offer health guidance and conduct individual consultations. The company deeply cares about the physical and mental well-being of its employees. If employees have any health or physiological concerns (such as hypertension, high cholesterol, high blood sugar, insomnia, etc.), they can visit designated locations for consultations. In 2022, there were a total of 19 consultations, with the primary focus being on blood lipid levels. Other common consultation topics included thyroid issues, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure.

n   Physical check-ups

To take care of our employees, CT provides an annual health check-up service, with the company covering the expenses. Based on the results of the health check-up, we implement health management measures according to the values obtained. In 2022, a total of 269 individuals underwent general health check-ups. To address the common occurrence of lung cancer among the population, we have included chest X-ray examinations and abdominal ultrasounds. Subsequently, based on the results of the health check-ups, we provide services such as consultation, referrals, and continuous monitoring as part of our health management approach. Additionally, for employees aged 45 and above who work night shifts for extended periods, we conduct electrocardiogram (ECG) tests to provide more comprehensive protection for their well-being.

Personnel working in special operational areas undergo scheduled special health check-ups once a year, with the company covering the expenses. The check-up includes specific examinations for factors such as special noise and dust.

In 2022, a total of 350 special health check-ups were conducted for personnel working in special operational areas.

Noise: 184 persons

Dust:166   persons

Total: 350 persons

Based on the annual physical check-up results, the clinic reminds employees to monitor and improve any abnormal findings. Additionally, experts are hired to conduct research on employees’ health check-ups and operational environment assessment data. This research aims to identify hazardous factors and propose preventive educational training programs.
