Energy Conservation, Carbon Reduction, and Environmental Protection
Climate change and carbon reduction issues are attracting increasing attention. Around the world, governments have successively announced their “net zero emissions by 2050” pledges and policies, and Taiwan formally enacted the 2050 net zero emissions target into law in 2023. In response, CT has actively followed the net zero trend by upholding environmental protection and energy saving awareness, implementing related measures, and continuously promoting the Company’s energy management system.
CT actively cooperates with the FSC in promoting carbon inventories for TWSE/TPEx listed companies. In 2021, the Company began conducting GHG inventories, and in 2023 it expanded the scope to include its three plants to strengthen control over energy consumption across all areas of operation. The Company also continues to implement an equipment replacement program as a tangible effort to carry out environmental protection and reduce air pollution, linking carbon reduction and net zero performance with financial metrics, saving electricity while reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing the Company’s sustainability and competitiveness in the industry.
Implementing Community Care
In addition to conserving energy and reducing carbon emissions, the Company actively fulfills its social responsibility, upholds the corporate philosophy of “taking from society and giving back to society,” takes specific actions to assist those in need, has long provided sustained support for the underprivileged, organized nearly 10 charitable activities in 2023, encourages employees to participate in various philanthropic events to meet social needs, thereby fostering civic consciousness, internalizing it as part of its corporate social responsibility culture, and realizing the concept of giving back to society.
