May 2025 – Century Steel × Taiwan Foundation for the Blind: “Sharing Happiness This Dragon Boat Festival”
At Century Steel, the “S” (Social) in ESG represents a core value of the company’s commitment to social responsibility. During this traditional Dragon Boat Festival, Century Steel demonstrated care in action by supporting employment and livelihood services for the visually impaired.
The company purchased public welfare rice dumplings (zongzi) from the Taiwan Foundation for the Blind as holiday gifts for employees, distributing a total of 420 dumplings. This initiative not only shared festive blessings but also embodied the company’s vision of building a sustainable future together with its employees and the community.
Founded in July 2009, the Taiwan Foundation for the Blind established the iBlind Charity Mall, an e-commerce platform combining consumption with public welfare. Visually impaired employees participate in product packaging, which both increases the foundation’s self-sustaining revenue and expands employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Through this, they gain equal work rights, social participation, and a renewed sense of self-worth.
By collaborating with the Foundation and purchasing traditional handmade rice dumplings for employees, Century Steel advanced multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
Good Health and Well-Being (Goal 3)
Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8)
Reduced Inequalities (Goal 10)
Internally, this initiative enhanced employee welfare and workplace happiness; externally, it supported disadvantaged groups and strengthened the company’s socially responsible brand image.
