June 2025 – Century Steel “Spreading Happiness, Sharing Love” – Vehicle Donation

The Gala Cultural Health Station, located in the Lala Mountain Scenic Area of Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, is the highest health station in altitude among Taoyuan’s indigenous communities. Last year, Legislator Wu Li-hua, representing the indigenous peoples, received a petition from the Gala Cultural Health Station.

The station had long relied on an old, donated vehicle from Changhua Christian Hospital, which frequently broke down due to its age and condition. This made caregivers anxious whenever transporting elderly residents through the mountainous terrain.

For safety reasons, Pastor A-Yun You-Ming, the station’s project leader, submitted an application for assistance. Responding with generosity, Mr. Wen-Hsiang Lai, Chairman of Century Iron & Steel, donated a peach-colored SUV—symbolizing Lala Mountain’s famous peaches—to serve as the station’s dedicated transport vehicle.

The donation ceremony was personally attended by Vice Chairman Lai, who visited Fuxing District to hand over the keys. The new vehicle not only improves safety and comfort for the elderly but also increases attendance at the health station, allowing family members to work their farms with peace of mind. Elderly and indigenous residents with limited mobility can now enjoy more reliable, accessible long-term care services close to home—ensuring safety, dignity, and companionship within the community.
