2025 TALENT, in Taiwan – Taiwan Talent Sustainability Action Alliance
Century Steel Structure is proud to (re)announce its official participation in the “2025 TALENT, in Taiwan – Taiwan Talent Sustainability Action Alliance”, reaffirming our commitment to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
This year, Century Steel pledges to advance the following initiatives for our talent:
1. Meaning and Value
Action Strategy: Establish corporate governance and risk management mechanisms. Conduct regular training for managers and new employees, promoting codes of integrity and sustainable business practices. By instilling a culture of integrity, fairness, transparency, and trust, we aim to embed ethical conduct and sustainability across the organization.
Action Outcomes:
In 2024, 128 employees received ethics and sustainability training, a 1.3% increase from 2023. Training was delivered to new hires, managers, and via company website communications, emphasizing professional trust, integrity, and sustainable excellence.
Continuous assessment of organizational and individual needs ensures employees receive the training necessary to enhance career development, skills, and knowledge.
2. Diversity and Inclusion
Action Strategy: Build a workplace that embraces diverse backgrounds (gender, nationality, age, identity, etc.), promoting inclusivity and strengthening competitiveness. Health and safety teams provide resources and lectures on gender equality, human rights, anti-discrimination, and diversity.
Action Outcomes:
Female managers comprised 27% in 2023 and 29.57% in 2024, an increase of 1.57%, reflecting ongoing commitment to gender equality in a predominantly male industry.
Hosted “Workplace Gender Equality and Anti-Harassment” lectures by the Taoyuan City Police Department Women & Children Protection Unit, educating staff on gender equality and harassment prevention in the workplace.
3. Health and Well-Being
Action Strategy: Provide annual health checks, occupational injury prevention, and overall well-being programs, creating a friendly workplace environment that balances work and life while enhancing employee self-efficacy.
Action Outcomes:
EAP (Employee Assistance Program): Launched in June 2024, offering confidential professional counseling on mental health, legal, and family issues, among few in the steel industry to provide such support.
Health education programs on preventive medicine, stress management, and psychological care were held, resulting in Yunlin Plant receiving a workplace health promotion certification in 2024.
4. Talent Development and Growth
Action Strategy: Annual training programs aligned with employee and business needs, including professional development, certification, and industry-academia collaboration to bridge students and practical industry experience.
Action Outcomes:
Total training hours in 2024: 2,399 hours (638 hours for managers, 1,761 hours for non-managers).
Gender breakdown: 710.5 hours for female employees, 1,688.5 hours for male employees.
Green energy talent cultivation: Century Steel invested in Taoyuan Chenggong Industrial High School in 2022 to establish a green energy training base, and partnered with National Formosa University for 3+4 cooperative programs. In 2024, 10 students participated in industry-academia programs, gaining hands-on experience and industry-ready skills.
5. Communication and Engagement
Action Strategy: Establish transparent and inclusive communication channels to gather employee feedback, build trust, and foster a supportive culture.
Action Outcomes:
Multiple channels (training, company website, anonymous suggestion boxes) ensured employees could safely share ideas.
In 2024, 0 anonymous submissions were received and processed, reflecting proactive internal communication.
Century Steel Structure continues to actively support #TALENT_in_Taiwan initiatives, collaborating with Cheers Learning and over 500 alliance partners to create a better future for every employee. Together, we make positive change visible.
