Establishment of Management System
Adhering to the belief in corporate growth and environmental harmony, CT has implemented the ISO 14001 environmental management system to accurately address potential operational challenges related to the environment. Starting with quantification, it ensures that environmental protection commitments are firmly upheld throughout its operations. The latest certificate is valid from 2024 to 2027.
Facing the carbon reduction pressure brought by climate change, we continue to strive for energy conservation and carbon reduction, using the ISO 14001 environmental management system as the foundation and framework for corporate environmental management. Through the implementation of ISO 14001, we continuously monitor and effectively manage and reduce our environmental impact. In addition, in 2021 we promoted the ISO 50001 energy management system to improve energy use efficiency a nd conducted an ISO 14064‑1 GHG inventory, dedicating ourselves to reducing the impact of our operational activities on the overall environment and advancing our sustainable environmental vision.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of compliance with environmental laws and regulations; closely mo nitor climate change issues, regulatory changes, and market development trends; through self-regulation, adjust internal management systems in a timely manner and transparently disclose and respond promptly, while ensuring adherence to increasingly stringent environmental protection laws, thereby achieving the goal of sustainable development. In 2024, no major environmental violations resulting in penalties occurred at any of the Company’s plant areas. The environmental violations that did occur were non-major violations, and the corresponding improvement measures have been completed. The environmental regulatory compliance status and handling measures of each plant are shown in the table below:

Water Resource Monitoring and Management
The Company routinely monitors daily water usage and reviews abnormal consumption to identify its causes. By formulating a water resource policy, the Company demonstrates its attention to and responsibility for water resource management. This approach helps raise awareness among employees and the public about the sustainable development of water resources and promotes the sustainable use of water resources.
Although the Company's various manufacturing, services, and activities do not generate wastewater issues, Century still applies high standards of review, establishes water pollution prevention management procedures in accordance with relevant water pollution prevention laws and regulations, and proactively monitors surrounding effluent every H1 and H2. The 2025 effluent monitoring results all complied with the effluent standards required by environmental protection laws and regulations.
Century Iron & Steel’s processes do not require large amounts of water. Most water demand is for domestic use, as well as certain plant equipment such as fish ponds and cooling towers. According to statistics, total water consumption in 2025 was 16883.8078 cubic meters.
In 2025, because the original projects had come to an end and production plans for new projects were only gradually launched in H2, and the number of employees decreased, overall water consumption showed a downward trend compared with 2024.
In 2025, overall water consumption decreased by 14.51 %. The Company continues to promote water conservation awareness and monitoring, and aims to reduce water consumption by 1 % each year going forward.

Waste Reduction and Management
Waste Policies: To achieve its environmental risk management objectives, the Company continues to maintain and improve product quality and customer service, actively invests in reducing industrial waste and resource recovery of business waste, reduces landfill disposal, and mitigates carbon emissions and climate change risk impacts.
As our wind power industry grows steadily and production capacity continues to increase, the volume of waste generated will inevitably rise. To address environmental protection challenges, we are moving toward processes that generate low pollution and reduce waste, and toward the resource recovery of industrial waste so that waste is no longer merely waste. This approach can save costs and even generate revenue for the Company, reduce pollution, and promote resource cycling in society, thereby continuously mitigating the impact of environmental risks.
The storage and cleanup of industrial waste within the plant are properly managed in accordance with the Environmental Protection Administration’s Waste Disposal Act and related sub-laws. Before entrusting removal and treatment, the cleanup contractor is evaluated for the qualifications and capabilities required for compliant removal, and operators handling resource-recycled products are given priority in selection to achieve the sustainable development of resource circulation.

The main industrial waste at the Taoyuan and Yunlin plants consists of employee domestic trash, waste steel balls, furnace dust, waste wood, welding slag, and mixed metal scraps. In assessing their significant environmental impacts, we found that welding slag had not been properly treated in the past and was simply disposed of by landfill. After reviewing Taiwan’s industrial waste landfill facilities, it is projected that in two years only one landfill will still have available capacity. In addition to the significant issue of accumulated volume, landfill costs for the Company are rising annually, which will inevitably impact sustainable operations.
Management plans were developed for the major risks identified in the assessment, and an internal waste operations management system was initially established to conduct a waste reutilization project study. After continuous testing in 2023, waste was successfully reutilized, with welding powder and shot blasted steel beads recycled, resulting in the generation of welding slag and waste steel balls furnace dust being reduced at the source. Waste welding slag was changed from the original 100% landfill treatment to 100% resource recycling and reuse.
The amount of waste treated in 2025 was 396.03 metric tons; the waste resource recovery rate was 87.13 %.

Through source reduction, effective measures are implemented in the production process, such as improving process technology and optimizing raw material usage efficiency, to reduce the amount of waste generated and decrease the volume of waste produced. Secondly, waste is viewed as a resource and resource recovery and reuse is implemented to minimize its negative impact on the environment. Transforming waste into reusable resources not only reduces demand on natural resources, but also lessens the burden on landfills and decreases environmental pollution.

Therefore, source reduction and resource reutilization together have enhanced the effectiveness and sustainability of the Company’s waste management. In 2023, the internal waste operations management system operating model was introduced to the subsidiary Century Huaxin Wind Energy Co., Ltd., and during the initial plant commissioning period corresponding measures were implemented for management. To date, the waste disposal measures have been successfully executed. Through these measures, we have implemented the core concept of maximizing resources and minimizing waste while also reducing waste disposal costs, generating revenue from reuse, lowering GHG emissions, and enhancing competitiveness. This approach creates opportunities for the Company’s operations and enables the realization of the goal of sustainable operation through resource cycling.
